offended?

I have 4, 2 year old RES and occasionally they will go into this sort of offended stance towards another RES. Like 2 RES will be face to face with their heads in the shell but their arms extended outwards completely towards the other RES. And then they keep that stance for like 10 seconds and dont move. Does anyone know what this means?

Probably a territorial thing. How big are they and how big is the tank?

btw, welcome to the site :-)

Res' can be territorial and bully each other, which can cause harm to them, and cost you in vet bills. Res' are solitary and prefer to be alone, unless mating. It's a good idea if you can to seperate them before this can happens. Of course, that would mean a whole set up for each turtle. Maybe you could keep them 2 and 2? Others will reply with more suggestions. Good luck! :)

Keeping turts of various sizes together is risky. Best if the ones kept together are near the same size. Larger RES can unknowingly harm or kill smaller RES.
