Turtle likes music?

A wierd thing happened today. My turtle Sebstian was swimming around his tank as usual and I was watching him. I found an old music box and wound it up then put it against his tank. It was strange, he suddenly swam up to the music box and froze in a position with his head sticking far out. It was almost like he was in a complete trance. After a while he started opening and closing his mouth every so slightly but very fast. Shortly after doing this, he turned his front feet sideways and stretched them way out in front of his head and started shaking them frantically. He finally snapped out of it and swam away.

I saw him do this once before to a Nerf dart I stuck to his tank.

Someone said that shaking their front feet is a way of attracting a mate.
He's only 5 months old though!

What is he doing?

I've heard they do that to attract mates and to fend off intruders to their territory.

He doesn't seem to dislike it. He just stops whatever he was doing and stares blankly at the music box, completely still.

My turtle sometimes does that to me when I watch him up close to his tank and talk to him. And here I thought he was flirting with me! lol
I never considered he might be telling me to back off! :)
