Gold Spots... Advice, please!

I've had my RES for about 5 months now. He's been very active and growing quickly! However, I've noticed lately that he has some lights spots on his shell. Please check out the pics.

Additionally, when he's swimming around in the water, it looks like he has 4-5 water-drop-sized neon spots (there are 2 pencil-dot sized ones, too). It looks like he has neon gold paint drops on his shell. These don't seem to show up in photographs, but I've included a video where the spots are quite prominent.

Is his shell healthy? He has everything that he needs: UVA and UVB, calcuim supplements, pellets, veggies, and the occasional worm. Why the strange markings?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure my little Berlioz stays healthy and living long past the day I croak!

Is he getting ready to shed? My Zeke shell has light spots on it when he's getting ready to shed the scutes.

I would think shedding as well. Spots that begin to lift often appear translucent, and can have air bubbles trapped underneath.

The metallic look is because the scutes are getting ready to shed.
