I have 1 female and I male RES in a 50 gal. tank. They are about 2 years old and the male has been performing his mating "dance" for about a month now. My female has been acting "wierd" lately, not eating very much (and she's normally a pig), scratching at the glass and various different acts. I've read up on taking care of a pregnant RES (bedding, ect.) but I haven't read anything telling me how I can tell if my RES is pregnant. I'm worried that she'll get sick if I don't make a "spot" for her in time. They seem a little young to give birth. Those young moms!

The scratching at the glass is a typical sign of needing out to lay eggs. Of course, mine do this when they beg. If it seems more frantic than normal, then it could be time.

Just a note: females would can also become gravid without a male and could also lay unfertilized eggs. It is not uncommon for captive turtles, who are much larger to due richer diets and over feeding, to become sexually mature at an early age. About how big is she (shell length)?
If she is ready to lay eggs, I would prepare a nest ASAP. Also consider that male may be bothering her a lot and she wants to get away from him.
