should i have the small gravel rocks at the bottem of the tank i dont see them eating the rocks.

You may not see them eating the gravel, but are you watching them 24/7? They may eat some when you are not looking and become impacted.

ok , i'll have to wait till the next cleaning to take them out. n get the big rocks. plus they getting a bigger tank too.

if you're looking for some sort of "substrate" that looks good but is safe (relatively). look for large pebbles. not gravel. and always get them judging upon the size of your turtles.

For a while i was buying these golden looking rocks. the smallest i'd put in the tank was about the entire size of their heads. that way they couldn't injest them... at least i hope!

but it because bothersome to clean the tanks with them in so i've since scrapped them. I leave a few of them in the bottom as a toy

most people end up with a few river rocks in the bottom of the tank because it's much easier to clean .. All those tiny rocks, besides the potential hazard to your turtle, trap all the debris in the tank and that can make your water quality bad not to mention make the water smell too.

After you remove them, keep an eye out for others that may reappear. You never know when some might pass that you don't realize that they've eaten.

I bought some drainage rocks and am picking out all the small rocks that they could possibly eat. Thing is wouldn't rocks break the bottom glass of the tank.
