Did a quick search and did not find anything in regards to this.
i am thinking about feeding my turtles outside of their tank but in a rubbermaid. This was suggested by my vet in order to keep the tank cleaner.
He suggested that I feed in another tank and leave them there for about an hour or so for them to finish their business.

does anyone else do this?
if so..am i suppose to feed them in a temperature controled environment and should i keep lighting the area? Do i need a resting/dock place?

i personally think its a waste of time, money and space. Just invest in a good filter and you will be fine. However other people will disagree.

I used to have a hard time with the search feature. I could never find what I wanted. I don't know if it's been changed, or if I just learned better techniques for searching, lol.

ALL THE TIME!!! Feeding outside the tank in a separate laundry tub has been a LIFESAVER for my big baby's tank!

You won't need a resting dock or special lighting. They won't bask AND eat at the same time because they have to be in the water to eat (need water to swallow food). Temp of the water doesn't have to be perfect, just hand warm. If you aren't sure, pay attention to how warm the tank water is, then try to get your faucet to have the same temp before filling the laundry tub. It's only a temp setup & you are going to dump the water after they feed anyway.

I use water from the tank for her feeding tub. It helps with regular partial water changes.

tried doing it twice already...but both are not warming up to it. i think that they are scared of the new environment. going to try to give them treats or something while in the feeding tub.

Some don't mind, while some will just absolutely refuse to eat in a separate container (especially if you stand there and stare at them).
