questions about pacos groth

ive had paco for about 6 months now... when i first got him he was one inch long.. and now hes onyl 1.5 inches.... is this a normal groth rate or should he be growing faster?

I don't think there is real harm in undergrowth, unless it's severe (ie. 2 inches after 4 years), but if it is overgrowing, it could mean health issues. Organ failure and Shell pyramiding for example.

So I agree, your turtle is growing at a good rate.

Yep, I have heard other members saying that an inch a year is a good growth rate. So in your case half an inch in 6 mouths = half a year = right on!!!

The suggested amount is that they should be about 3" the first year and grow about an inch each year after.

They'll do their fastest growing in the first 3 years and then slow down after that.

Well unless little Paco speeds up he won't make 3 inches in his first year. Do you think he needs more protein in his diet?

well ive breen TRYING to get him to eat lettuce, but he wont touch it.. my friends mom has some anachris in her fish tank so she might give me sum when they replentish in the spring... but so far.. all paco has been getting is pellets, cuttle bone, and the occasional fish
