Tropical Science - "Complete Care"
Tropical Science - "Amazon Rain"
Tetra Aqua - "Aqua Safe"
Jungle "Ammonia Clear Tank Buddies"

Is any of the products I listed good to use with my slider?

If not what are you all using?
Reason I ask, is my new 40gal. tank set up came with all the above.

My water quality came out as;
PH - 8.2
Ammonia - 1.0 ppm
Nitrate - 0 ppm
Nitrite - .10 ppm

I'm going to do a partial water change, but do you all recomend any of the above?

Geno,

I'm not familiar with any of those products.

I used "Biotize" to help jump start my bio filter when I first got my XP3. I think Biotize seeds the filter with good bacteria.

On a regular basis I use Reptisafe (water conditioner, neutralizes chlorine, chloramine, and does other nice things), Turtle Waste Degrader (self explanatory), and PH Down. That's all.

The PH Down and Waste Degrader are somewhat contraversial. Some of the people on the forum recommend against them. I use PH Down because our tap water's ph is really high - over 8.6. I'm using it in an attempt to correct some long standing shell problems my turtle has that I think may be partially related to our high ph. Your ph is pretty high too.

I use the waste degrader because although my turtle's pretty big I don't have piles of turtle poop sitting on the bottom of my tank and I think the waste degrader helps. I think the degrader breaks it down then the sponges in the filter capture it until I clean the filter.

To make PH go up and down, they ae really easy to do..

To make it go up, Use a tiny pinch of baking soda... Wait a coupe hours and test it again...

To make it go down, use vinegar... Test in a few hours.
