So I got home tonight and somehow my filter was sitting on the bottom of the tank. When I lifted it out I noticed that a few chunks had been eaten from the black foam filter pad. So I was wondering if this can pass through their digestive system.
Both turts around two inches

Hmmm I dont know what to think about this one?! If they were mine I would just watch carefully and make sure they keep behaving normally; pooping, eating, basking, etc. I would think if those things keep happening then they arent backed up or anything from the foam. Just keep a close eye on them would be my opinion!
PS ..Turts luv to eat anything NEW that isnt food...lol (mine does try anyhow)
Let us know the outcome, k?
Good luck!

This may be totally unhelpful: by black foam inserts, are you talking about the black charcoal part? If so, I don't think it would be terribly harmful. Vets often give charcoal to pets that have ingested something toxic. If it's actually foam... that I don't know about. But yes, do keep us posted!!

How big were the pieces? If only small pieces were gone, then it should be OK just do what Camee mentioned.

Okay thank for the advice, and ya they were only small pieces that were missing from the foam. They seem to be doing fine today they have eaten, swam around, and I've caught them basking a couple times. But Ill keep ya posted if there behaviors starts to deviate from what they regularly do.

"Make it turtle proof, and they'll build a better turtle." Looks like you got a couple of those "better" turtles!
