I was wondering if anyone knew if scented candles disturb red ear sliders in any way? I'm petrified that if I light one up he will get sick.

Thanks

Hello
I burn scented candles in my house all the time, they do not seem to bother or hurt myah(my RES) in any way.
Hope this helps

I burn them also, and have air purifiers that let out an ozone smell...also use sprays *for stinky smells* etc...I dont spray the turt...but nothing seems to matter to her! Should be okay!

Scented candles shouldn't pose a problem.

I don't use any sprayable air fresheners or anything like that though.

I burn 4 scented candles in the room Tilly's in every night (he's across the room from them). I've never worried about the scent. I have wondered about the smell after I've blown them out, but he's never had a problem with that either.

I have an ionizer near their tank that has that ozone-y smell, too. They don't seem to mind. But I HAVE noticed that when I turn on my itunes, they come out to bask. And, that when I get up to leave the room/come back in, they are less likely to jump off the dock if there is music on. Possible that they like the music?
