poop issue

i started giving my turtle green leaf lettuce over the past week now. he appears to enjoy it, but up til i started giving it to him his poop was nice and firm, but now it's kinda chunky and either falls apart or he tries to eat it right away and it breaks down and makes a huge mess all over his tank of little digested lettuce bits that the filter doesn't pick up. is this normal for his poop to do this? i thought maybe it's just for a while as he adjusts to eating the new food. i give him about 1/3 of a leaf every morning and he eats it all day. he's otherwise happy and healthy, so i may be concerned about nothing, and just have to clean his tank more often. thanks for your help!

He's getting the runs (diarrhea). Slack off on the lettuce, don't feed iceberg at all, maybe in place of lettuce, give him a small piece of carrot or green pepper instead. Or just skip a day and give him lettuce every other day. My guys are the same way, they chow down on the lettuce then poop all over the place!

it's the simplest things that you don't think of. :] i do give him carrots a couple times a week, so i will alternate with the carrots and lettuce. and yes, i feed him the good calcium rich green leaf lettuce. thanks!
