Ok, Just got back from their house and got to take some pics of the little cutie Leonardo. Other than being a little skinny he looks pretty good to me.
I brought her books and info on RES and told her to contact me anytime about anything! She "seems" she may.
They seem to be scared of him and really know NOTHING...so Im trying...
Here he is!

Aw, so cute! Do you think he was someone's pet that they just released? Poor little guy, I hope your neighbor does the right thing and takes care of him!

I dunno starchick...the husband told me it was crossing the road and he saw it and picked it up! (We have lots of wild ones here in the Lake.) So I dunno if it was a pet, or momma died, or what?! I DO hope I got something into her head today.

Ferd I really have no idea.?! I have heard they have no "nesting" instict..so maybe they do. I just thought the momma could have gotten hit by a car since he found the baby in the road.

Yes, they just abandon them and never come back to their babies. They usually want to bury them by water so when they hatch they will be on their way.

Yeah the mom's don't stick around once they lay the eggs. The little ones have to already pretty well know what to do when they hatch.

Man that is so sad

And with only a few ponds and 2 lakes here they gotta walk a LONG way for water. Poooor babies. Maybe it is a good thing he found that turtle as long as things shape up!

ok. i thought so since the loggerheads do that and most other reptiles. What kind of a set up do they have him/her in?

So they say... a 10 gallon tank with a brick and only enough water to cover almost the top of the brick so the turt can stand on it. THATS ALL!
Im trying to HELP them change that!
