this is a list of what my tank has:

floating basking rock
some feeder fish(i counted about 15)
a rock with a hole entrance
25 gal filter
uvb light


thats all i have tell me any ideas you have. just to let you know i dont want to add these things:

gravel stones(for cleaning the tank, its a pain to clean with these rocks)
plants( i strictly dont want algae because my teacher's tank has that and it looks nasty)

please give me any ideas on what i might need thank you for any thoughts or suggestions.

Add some sort of bubble feature. A bubble wall or a ring. It's easy and your turtle will love it. Make sure your turtle can't get stuck in the rock with a hole in it. I would also add a couple of large river rocks for your turtle to push around.

my turtle is 5 inches. the entrance is bigger than the size of her head. and ive been meaning to get some paper to put as a backround to put behind the tank to make it look festive. i know what you mean i will buy one when i go buy more feeder fish

Fake plants are a great addition to any tank. It provides a place for your turtle to rest or hide in. Just make sure that the leaves aren't too small or weak because they are sure to try to rip it apart for the first couple of days.

those help but i dont want the feeder fish to eat the fake plants. its better i get water plants either way when i get more feeder fish. thx that helps nettle ill use some of those to make it more festive. i want that back round paper roll that makes the tank look like a real pond or something. but they're like 6 dollars but ill afford it sinc ei get like 20 dollars a week

Your fish/turtle shouldn't eat plastic plants. I've never had fish try to eat the plants ... I don't think you need more feeder fish, if your turtle is about 5", you should be feeding him only 2-3 fish A MONTH. 15+ is too much and will cause pyramiding.

A bubble feature should definitely make your turtle happy. Some plastic plants will break up the tank and make it lovely. Some rocks or large glass drops will provide entertainment for your turtle. The background is expensive, and it's not necessary to buy the natural one if you'd rather find some interesting fabric or wrapping paper will easily substitute.

Watch out for caves. My turtle would continually get himself stuck in this one rock I had, and after I had to rescue him a number of times, I removed it. Even if you think he won't get stuck, he may get stuck.

yeh i noticed pyramiding. but now she doesnt like them. the male is sared of fish which doesnt surprise me. i never heard fo a bubble feature can anyone show me this?. the wrapping paper i still can budget. the cave is baout 2 inches wide and id say 4 inches high. the 5 inch cant fit through that but its head easily can fit without a problem.

So, bubblers, the basic model, are available at pretty much any pet store. The motor is cheap, usually less than ten bucks. There are usually a couple types of stones you can use to get the bubbles, some are round balls, some look like sticks. That's the basic setup. You can look around for more complicated models, I searched the forum for a recent thread (that I can't of course find!) that someone had a link to this really cool bubbler that you picked a color filter and it made colored bubbles. There is a recent post by a user named "jacqui" about her tank that she has a bubble wall in her tank. You can PM her and see if she can give you details about the wall.

I have three plastic plants that my guys push around a little. One underwater fake rock. it sits on the bottom of the tank. Basking area and a floating log. I continue to think about "home" decore but I plan to get a bigger tank, stand and better filter system soon.

So cool. I love this thing. and the turt does too. He pushes it around. I find it everywhere. He doesnt eat it - cant pull it it and moving it around is part of the fun. I am going to get two more for the bigger tank eventually.

maybe the next time i buy feeder fish ill ask if they have those. if any1 else have suggestions post away ill gladly read it.
