Habitat - Indoor :: Traction for turtle ramp?

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I'm trying to build a bigger basking area for my RES with a ramp that dips down into the water. Does anyone know if that gritty sort of traction tape that they use on pool stairs would be safe to use? The tape feels like sandpaper, but I don't know what it's actually made of or if the adhesive itself would be safe to be in the turtle's water. Any thoughts are appreciated :)

I've recommended the non-slip tape the use in showers before, it's probably the same stuff you are suggesting. Some acrylic docks use what looks to be that material as well. If only a small portion is in a large tank, there probably shouldn't be any issues. Other options people have used is artificial turf, slats cut into the ramp or thin ridges glued on.
