Hi guys, I’m new here. I’ve had my RES for about 6 years. She is obviously big now. She currently has a 40 gallon tank, which I clearly know is not enough. My question is in upgrading, would you just go to the next size up? It seems like she would more like something wider rather than deeper(but maybe would also like deeper because she could swim more but then she closer to the top, and that’s an entirely different conversation) but I wouldn’t know where to find something like that.

Wider tanks are usually called breeder tanks, and most max out at 40 gallons. If you are interested in glass aquariums, then get the largest you can because you also have to upgrade the filter. Incremental upgrades will cost you more and can be a hassle to find tanks and new equipment every couple of years.

Glass tanks also usually hold their value pretty well, so don't ignore the used tank market.
