So I'm in dire need to upgrade my tank size from 20 gallons to 70-75 gallons. My filter setup is also going to need to be changed as well I have a Penn-plax Cascade 1000

If you're looking for standard glass-aquariums, check Craigslist. There are some good deals to be had. If you insist on a new one, there might be a Black Friday deal out there, though the most common one is the $1 per 1 gallon deals, and those are usually capped at 40-55 gallon tanks. You will have more choices in filters, though the one recommended the most is a bit pricey but a beast (Fluval FX).

Another source is Facebook marketplace. That's where we found our 125 a month or two ago. Got a great deal with lights, filter & stand.

Which Fluval FX should I get?

Either the FX4 or 6 will work. The 6 is a little overkill in a 75 gallon but will work just fine for turtles.

Now the biggest question is how to fill the tank? For my 20 gallon I used the Python fill/drain hose. However at my new place they have those fancy pull down hose for the kitchen sink and the bathroom has those fancy square shape spouts. So I’m trying to figure out how to fill it. Plus I think in my other tank my penn-plax cascade died I went back over and it’s not pumping at all.

I do want to try adding live plants again maybe with a bigger tank she won’t be bothered to uproot them all when she passes them.

If you know how and are allowed, I would probably swap the bathroom faucet. If you want to keep the look, you can probably add a hose connection from your cold water line under the sink, but that's lot more work. How long have you had the cascade?

Well I’ve had the cascade for about 3 years now but it looked like it finally died the impeller seized up. I guess getting the FX4 should be pretty easy now. What about the shower head connection?

I would not have thought of that and I guess it could work. You will need the right adapter/fitting and it might be more inconvenient depending on the layout of your place. Personally, I don't like removing the shower head often.

So my Fluval FX6 came today but I think I have an issue.. does it just come with one long ribbed hose or should it come with two of them?

I haven't cracked mine open yet, but there should be 2 hoses.

It’s just one you have to cut.
