Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I can't see a filter in there, or a heater. Water temperature as well as basking temperature should be at the recommended temperatures for the healthiest of turtles.

The screen cover's mesh should be at least 1/2 inch apart, so less UVB is filtered out (unless the holes are huge, UVB rays will be filtered out anyhow under a mesh cover). I only see one bulb there, so is it an MVB? Turtles require UVA and UVB to stay at their best, and unless it's an MVB bulb (which has both), you need two bulbs, a normal incandescent bulb will do for UVA, as it gives off heat and light, and a UVB to promote active turtles and shell growth.

If it is an MVB bulb, check the basking and water temperatures so they are normal, MVB bulbs emit a high amount of heat and is not recommended for smaller tanks (55 Gallon minimum recommended), and can overheat your turtle's habitat. If so, you can raise your lamp higher until it reaches the preferred range.

This is not as important as what I said above, but some turtles have been known to bite their glass thermometers (as well as glass heaters), so you might want to change your thermometer to something safer such as a digital thermometer, or a stick-on.

But other than that, your turtles look very healthy and happy, ;) .

Beautiful turtles!

I think I see a submerged filter at the back on the left. And I think it's strong enough that it's agitating the water - is that right? Is there a heater in there?

I agree about the glass thermometer. The bite of a turtle - if you haven't personally experienced it yet - is surprisingly powerful and can break a glass thermometer. Have they started biting yours yet? If not, they will!

The flourescent light fixture needs to be over the basking area along with the heat lamp so the basking turtles get the benefit of the UVB rays.

Pizza,
Thanks for your input i have everything for the turtles to be healthy and happy. The covers mesh wiring has pretty large holes so i think nothing is getting filtered but i think there is some overheating going on, thats why we don't keep the lamp on for more then 11 hours. Also if we keep the UVB light for too long with in a week maybe an inch of water is evaporated. I've been wanted to construct something to keep the lap about 5 -10 inches from the basking area. if you have any ideas please share. :) btw we do have a filter and a heater.

Spots Mama,
Your absolutely correct we have all the stuff... hmm I've never seen none of them try to bite the thermometer. but i guess I'll look in to a digital one. Thanks

That seems very Bright, and direct for a UVB light. Can i ask, what kinda bulb your using? A UVB bulb should not get hot at all...

Also by the looks, your basking area is probably over 90*, you may wantt o check the temp of it... Other then that looking good! When they get a lil bigger and messier, the plus 4 might not be sufficient.
