How is this done? I really have no idea or clue how people do it, or what the purpose is, but I would like to find out.

They pull the plastic part off the bottom and then put the end through a suction cup. You can then mount the plants on the sides or bottom of the tank/container then.

They make plants with suction cups on them made for hanging onto the side of the tanks and stuff. I just picked up 2 yesterday at petco called "HANGING GARDENS". Or you could even pick up a package of just suction cups and rig almost any plant to be able to hang it where u want. This is done for the turtle. They like hiding in the plants or having places to hang out and rest or even sleep. We try to re-create what a turtle would be living in out in the wild but here in our own homes. So the turtle can feel, well, "at home" himself.

Thanks, I didn't see anything like that, but I will try putting them into a suction cup if I can find ones that are skinner/don't have a plastic part on the bottom. I want to leave a little decoration like a colliseum that is about the size of a half dollar or more on the bottom so they can push it and I also want to leave a plant on the bottom too. Would you recomend I put my plants on the side near the water line?

Just be sure that they plants on the side don't provide a "step" for the turtle that he can use to escape from the tank. There must be no way for him to escape.

what i did was tried a few different places until Norman started showing a little more activity in a certain spot i placed them. Then just left them there. So he kinda picked the spot if u know what i mean.

Make sure the turtles can't climb them and escape.

I keep mine just above the waterline. Beaker may be thinking about "busting out", but I don't think so....
