I use an Aqua-Tech Power Filter 60 on my 20 gallon setup for my two turtles, the filter does a good job and i am happy with it. But there is a problem, you see its kind of hard to find filter cartridges for it. I usually get them in the fish section at Walmart. But days ago, my mom went and no luck at all. The guy actually told her that they are going to stop selling them.

So, i was thinking. Almost every where i go, i always see the whisper filter cartridges. They are even cheaper. Do you think i would be able to use those kind of cartridges on my filter, even though it is not from the same brand?

Help, :x

Well do you think the cartridge would fit into your filter?

I have a tetra reptofilter (I believe it is a whisper, as it says whisper technology, it's just a gimmeck for new aquatic reptile owners). The cartridges they sell for them look just like the things that come in a white box called bio-bags, or something like that. My brother uses a cascade 80 in his 5.5 gallon fish tank/set-up and I looked at it and said it looks just like what I use. The point is, I would say yes, if they are the same size/ as long as they fit.

Your Welcome. I am not familiar with your type of filter, but my brother has one that is small and sits on the back. His is rated for ten gallons, so he takes a bio bag, and I guess it's better to have the biggest one possible, and he turns it diagonally in the place where the output waterfall type thing is so it fits. This probably allows him to use a bigger bag and get cleaner water that way, but if anyone has any input if this affects the productivity of the filter, please let me know.
