How do you guys change the water in the big tanks? I currently have a 10 gallon tank but I am *hopefully* getting a new 55 gallon this weekend. I just relized I have no idea how to change the water in a tank that big! I currently have a filter and just do a full water change every 2 weeks or so. I thought of just siphoning the old water out my window :) But I don't know how to get THAT MUCH water back into the tank with out making a TON of trips with a pitcher. Any suggestions?

A Python!!!!!! It has been a blessing!

By the way, PetSmart will pricematch their online prices. Saved me over $20!

I syphon the water out the back door into the back yard, then run a garden hose in and use it to fill the tank.

Awesome!! Thank you so much! That looks like it'll work great! No more hauling around a heavy tank full of dirty water and having slosh all over me. Thanks for the tip about matching the online prices I never even thought of that!

I am interested in getting a python but i read somewhere that if i used the kitchen to drain the water there that i would need to disinfect the whole sink and be careful where the water splashed, how true is this?
Thanks for your help.

You can use a 10% bleach solution in a spray bottle for cleanup. Or just use Ajax.
