friend or foe? does it realy do anything?

ever sinse i started useing it in my small 10 gallon, this algae stuff has been growing..its yellowish brown. really hard to get rid of because its a single celled organism.

anyway i am wondering if i should continue useing it or if i should stop useing it when i get my 55 gallon set up. is that good bacteria to have building up in my filter?

if i dont use it, the turtles eat their poop. which is annoying.

In a small 10-gallon tank, aside from a little dechlorinator if the water is highly treated where you are, you don't need that stuff. Water changes are the best thing you can do to keep your turtles healthy.

You are bothered by actually watching your turtles eat their poop? If so, turn away when you see them doing it. Or, if you just don't want them to eat it, keep a turkey baster by the tank and suck the poop out as soon as you see it.
