Okay, I sort of got it on the amount of pellets to give my turtle. We just got him in December from a friend of my moms that moved. We think our turtle is 3 years old. He is 4"long. We have been feeding him as much pellets that would fit in his head, which is 6 I think...daily but we are now giving him shedded carrot which he loves and sometimes steamed sweet potatoe. Now the question... do we still give him his pellets the same and it's okay to give some carrot or do we cut down how much pellets when giving some carrot and how much carrot is okay to give? Sorry for all the questions. I'm a little worried to feed him too much.

Feed him pellets every other day and veggies every day. I would give him more lettuce than carrot.

Try red leaf lettuce, not iceberg lettuce. I believe it's more nutricious, and iceberg has little nutritional value.

You can alternate other veggies with the carrots like a little tomato, bell pepper, sweet potato, blueberries, etc. He can have these things once or twice a week. You don't want to give him too much as these items contain some sugar.
The leaf lettuce (red or green) he can have every day. He can have cuttlebone in his tank all the time, too.
And erinemcgreevy is correct - he should only get a headfull of pellets every other day instead of every day. (of course, if you want to feed him every day and only give him a half a headfull a day - that's fine too. It works out to be the same in the long run.)
