it says shrimp is not recommended as it is a medium and high risk food.. Why? I thought shrimp can be offered occasionally. Since I have been offering my turtle shrimp as treat for the last a month or so, i am worried..

All of those things should be fed in extreme moderation as they are high in protien and have little nutritional value otherwise. I've heard that there is a possible link between feeder shrimp and shell rot, possibly due to a bacteria that the shrimp carry. What sort of shrimp have you been giving? Live shrimp or dried or cooked?

If your turtle is healthy, has a varied diet and you're only offering shrimp as a monthly treat (what portion do you give?) I wouldn't be worried.

I gave my turtles cooked shrimp we normally eat. I only gave them 1/5 of a shrimp each day for three days every month.
