i have a male res hes name is franklin and he is about 10- 13 yrs old and 6inc long, i got him about 3 months ago, i feed him reptomin and wardley dried whole shrimp. can anyone tell me what else i can feed him and when??? thanks

you can try and feed veggies also. if he doesnt like it you might have to force him into eating it. but dont feed every single vegetable because some can be too high of protein or anything like that. but look at the sticky on what to feed your turtle and what not too feed it and see if that helps

i guess i shouldnt feed him pellets once a day and shrimp once a day

Franklin check the feeding list it is great. I give my turt pellets every other day (total amount the size of her head, that does not include neck) and I give her veggies of some sort every day. I only give my turt shrimp once a month and fruit once a month. I am no expert, I'm still learning, so please check out the feeding section it is a great help. How did you get your turt?

10 to 13 years and only six inches? Wow, that's smaller than I'd expect. I know some are just genetically made to be smaller, but, wow...

At his age, he can be fed every other day, or at a minimum of three times a week. Reptiles have slower metabolisms than mammals.

will he get bigger now that he went from a 10 gal tank to a 40gal , and now he has uvb/ heat lamps ? or he is done growing?

Is he stunted?
For that age, 6" sounds kind of small .
A lot of males are more of the carnivorous side, can try more Romaine Lettuces etc

Try not to give those shrimps .

i know he is off the shrimp now, only once a month
