I noticed for a few days that there hasn't been any turtle poop in the cage. Well... we just saw him eating his poop. Before we could get the screen off and the scoop to scoop it out he had it finished. We feed him pelets every other day in the ammount equal to the size of his head. And then give him grean leaf lettuce on the off days. Is this normal?

I'm pretty sure it's normal.

I don't think it's anything to worry about, my turtles have been doing it ever since I bought them nearly 2 years ago.

My female RES has been recycling since I got her. My male won't touch the stuff.

I pulled the rocks out of my sliders aquarium a couple weeks back and have left it bare to watch for any passed stones. So far I have found nothing-at all. No stones, poop, nothing. I see the fish poop everywhere though!

since i got my RES she eats it as soon as it pops out.. i know nasty.. but someone on here told me that they dont digest all the nutrients in it..so i guess it tastes just as good as the pellets/veggies... what a life!
