So I bought some feeder guppies thinking it would be a nice treat for my painted and my RES only to find out that the RES is freaked out by them and the painted only likes the chase but won't commit to the bite down any suggestions before I net the guppies and feed them to my friends snapping turtle?

Those guppies will eventually slip up, just give it some time :)

I kinda wish Ranger didn't attack and kill his fish so quickly, I wouldn't mind have some minnows or guppies to hang around in there for a while.

I used to get the rosy reds for a while and in the pet store they are super small. Iv had one for like 5 months now and WOW they get pretty large...I had no idea how large the rosys could get. its bigger then my sword tail plattys and they are nice sized fish.

My turtle hasn't eaten any fish in about a year. Sometimes he gets feisty and chases them around, but he usually gives up quickly and goes back to begging, or chomping on lettuce :D

I almost think Sheldon has decided that he knows the fish too well now to eat them! Sometimes he will steal an algae wafer from my plecostomus, and take it over to his hang out area. All the platties and mollies follow him and dine on the algae wafer for a few minutes while he calmly watches them, then he will snatch the wafer and munch it down. Also on the mornings when I feed him and the fish at the same time he seems to be careful when eating pellets not to bite the fish... maybe I am over thinking it...

iv noticed the same thing when i had lots of tropical colorful fish in my tanks. at first, they would go straight for the new fish with nice colors but after a while they would treat them as if they were another turtle. I think they like having the fish around because it gives them something to look at. they love to look at stuff.

I used to think that also. Moe made friends with his fish roomates. They would swim together and eat together for months. One day I went to check on Moe and ALL of the fish were gone. I swear Moe had an evil grin.

That happened to me the first time I gave Ranger fish. I threw one in there and he didn't seem to want to eat it the first hour so I put the rest in and in 30 minutes all gone!
