I have been trying to read up on some older post about feeding my RES while Im away this weekend but I havent seen anything regarding the lighting. So here's my dilemma: I am going out of town for just a few days (Leaving Thursday morning and returning Sunday afternoon) I plan on buying her a vacation feeder (but Idk which one/kind), giving her some lettuce, and a few red minnows. But the problem is this: Im afraid she'll eat everything in sight  before I leave my apartment Thursday morning. and wont have food for the weekend. And what am I to do about her light? I have a timer (that only has one port and I have a dual light w/ 2 plugs) that I purchased durning the holiday season but Im not sure it works. The one time I tried to use it, it kept turning on and off every few minutes and I dont want that to start a fire while im gone

Please HELP!! I leave tomorrow and have to figure out something tonight :(

For just a few days, you can just leave no food in there. There are lots of keepers who only feed their RES 2 or 3 times a week. Some might leave a few feeder fish in there, so Seri will have to catch them first. I wouldn't leave too much food in there, it's possible it will be very messy (with poop) in there.

Figure out the timer. If it doesn't work, then you should have someone check and turn it on. And just leave the basking light, you can skip the UVB for a few days.

Ok thanks. I was thinking the same about the light. Seri is a hound she eats the fish fast. One time she ate like 6 within 20 min.
