I saw the sticky about what to feed turtles and what not to feed them but what I dont see are more common things. Is the list of what to feed them limited to only those items? Or can they have stuff like cabbage, onions, cooked potatoes, green bell peppers, cherries, etc? So far only day 2 on Seri's diet change and idt she's very happy. She hasnt touched the spinach I put in her tank an hour ago...

I'm new to turtle parenting myself, but from what I understand spinach should never be given. From what I remember, it interferes with calcium absorption. Sorry, if I'm wrong on that one. I would think cherries would be like other fruits. They can have it, but as a rare treat. As far as the rest of it - hopefully, someone that knows a whole lot more than me will be along at any moment.

Annar is correct about the spinach. For a better list, check the one on the main site. For foods you don't know about, look it up to see if it's on the poisonous list first.

Ok I looked on the nutrition page. Im happy that she's eating new stuff!! today apples and banana, yesterday carrots and a little pellets. I figure if she's hungry enough she'll eat whats in there. I think since the apples and banana are white, she thinks its cuttlebone and just goes for it. Today I will buy some red/green leaf lettuce.

btw...I LOVE THIS FORUM!!!
