Hi all,
I am wondering, why RES don't want to eat veggies but she eats cuttlebone so easily. I am wondering why. I dip the lettuce in tuna water as well, but after she bites it, she throws it out again.. :(

Is there any solutions, rather than Jelloshot?

Try other vegtables.... Maybe something harder. Try carrot If your RES will take something like that, you could try to work in lettuce and stuff gradually to expand their diet.

thanks Veipa for the answer.. :) I tried different greens for him. I gave him mustard green. He eats it. Is it okay if I feed him mustard greens often?

The smarter turtle people on this forum could give you a better answer than I could. I try to feed everything in moderation.... ie not too much of any single thing (except for the staple pellets - of which I feed mazuri).

Mustard greens - Use rarely (Not a staple)
These items have little benefit compared to other options. They may serve as filler material, a “treat”, or to add variety. These should not be offered in an unbalanced diet. They may be potentially harmful if offered in excessive quantities. Limit the amount of collards (Brassica group) offered.

It's been there. I haven't done any significant updates on it since it's probably the limit of my veggie knowledge.

So is there a limit to the amount of cuttlebone RES should be eating?

It's up to you since they process as much as they can utilize. It's really to supplement any deficiency and helps trim the beaks. I don't really give it that often as my RES seem to have lost interest in it.

Yes he absolutely loved the first cuttlebone we gave him now we give him a piece about once a week and he doesn't seem as interested anymore. But he is starting to enjoy some of the veggies slowly.
