Has anyone heard good/bad things about feeding our turtles corn? Mine absolutely loves corn and picks it out of all the veggies I feed him daily. Thanks

Corn (ground, corn meal) is an ingredient in a number of pellets that are out on the market; it is, however, one of many ingredients, all of which together hopefully provide balance in the diet. I think that occasionally feeding a bit of corn would be OK as part of the over all diet (I've done it, but not for a while), but I wouldn't make it a daily thing. Offering leafy greens daily---dandelions, red leaf and romaine lettuce, for example, and sometimes offering a few kernels of corn, would be better. The fact that your turtle is picking out the corn to the exclusion of other veggies and doing it daily doesn't sound like a very balanced diet.

He also eats ther veggies quite well in addition to the corn, I was just curious to see if corn itself was safe. That is what he picks out to eat first. Thanks for your reply!

Your welcome. :) I still wouldn't give corn every day, even if it is with other veggies.
