Adjusting overall diet

Hi - I have a 12 y/o male RES. I just got him home from the vet about an infection and he's now on anti-biodics.

He's very small (about 4 inches) and we were talking about his diet. Ever since he was little he would only eat the shrimp, meal worms, etc. If we tried anything else - pellets, carrots, etc. he wouldn't touch them. The doctor suggested we might try again to get his diet varied which may help him grow some and help with future infections.

Has anyone had any experience adjusting their turtle's food? Any advice? Dr. said that sometimes the turtles will become so stubborn they will only eat one thing and would rather starve to death than try something new.

I rescued him from some bad fair person and I don't want him to die from anything other than old age. He's my baby.

Try this viewtopic.php?f=8&t=17486 and slowly adjust the contents. They are stubborn, but some will eat almost anything. Try some veggies and use a veggie clip. It'll be easier for both of you :)

Thanks - just took a look - can't believe I'm going to do this. But, he's family and you do all sorts of things for family.

I had a couple of questions I posted over there. Hopefully I'll get the clarification I need.
