I am really worried about my turtle bean. He is a small turtle. I have had him for almost a month. I have put several post on here about him not eating. I don't think he is eating. I might be putting too many pellets in his water but the pellets I put in there I still notice. Is he eating something or how long does a turtle live without eating? I have tried putting him pellets in tuna water but he still doesn't eat the pellets.

turtle can survive up to about a few weeks. mabey less for the younger ones

how big is he? if he is a hatchling he might have not fully absorbed hos yolk sack... is ther still a little opening in the bottom of the shell? if there is that means he still has his yolk. also, did you get a new cage for him recently. it may take turtles a while to adjust to thier new surrounding. my paco took a while just to get used to me.

Misty can you send more info about your turtle I am considered that you said this has happened before...what do you mean by small has he grown at all? Have you tried to feed anything else for instance veggies, cuttlebone, live food?

There are some questions in a sticky under the urgent care section, can you answer some of those?

I have gave my turtle pellets, live crickets, Lettuce.
I have put the pellets in tuna juice to see if this would
help my turtle eat. I haven't seen him eat but twice
so far. I cleaned out his tank and there is a lot of pellets
that has dissolved in the water. I haven't tried giving my
turtle cuttlebone yet. I read on here that you can get cuttlebone
in the bird's section. I have two cockatiles so I have some cuttlebone
can I use that it says on here to peel off the back then how do I give
my turtle the cuttlebone? Do I chip of some of the cuttlebone and
put in in his water? Let me know. I am really worried about him.

My turtle is an inch and three quarters. He is really wanting to eat this evening. I put some carrots in there and apples he doesn't even care for this. I am breaking the carrots and apples into small pieces. I bought some Can O Crickets but I got to looking on the container it says do not use for hatchling small 2" and under so he can't eat it? He is trying but no luck with it.

I sometimes buy the Can 'O Crickets, but I always get the small ones (the regular ones are too hard, especially the legs). The small ones are very tender. Since you've got only one turtle, use only a portion and freeze the rest for later.

How do you know which Can O' Crickets is the small crickets?
It doesn't say on here. I know these are pretty big crickets.
He did eat on some of them though do you think he will be ok
now eating some of the crickets? I was worried cause he just
doesn't want to eat pellets.

Thanks for telling me the link. I hate to let these larger ones go to waste. Will it be ok if he eats these? These crickets I bought cost around 5.00

I haven't tried those yet... I suppose you can remove the legs and anything hard... maybe chop it into pieces.
