I was dipping the pellets into tuna water to give to my baby RES to try to encourage him to eat them since I heard that they like foods with strong smells and my vet told me. Well some pieces of the canned tuna got in his water when I dropped the pellets into it and he ate the pieces of tuna. He wanted more but I didn't feed him because I was unsure but is he going to be alright eating a small amount of canned tuna??

Its not going to hurt him but the pellets should make up the majority of his diet protein-wise. Its okay for him to have it as a snack once a week or two.

No I have can tuna and I just use the water from the can and my mom takes the tuna to lunch. I just got one can to try to encourage him to eat the pellets but now since I have done that he just wants to eat tuna LOL. I didn't know if it was safe to give him just a tiny bit.

Yeah, I gave Napoleon a bit of tuna and after that he didn't want anything else, he went wild over it. Best to give just a tiny bit as treats. Although I don't know if there are any other health concerns with tuna, anyone who knows, feel free to override me.

Tuna...high in protein (also somewhat salty). Too much protein in the diet causes too fast a growth and shell/health problems.
