Oh how beautiful the search feature is!
Could you explain to us what "the right amount" is? Every healthy/normal turtle will frantically beg for more food. If you give in when they do this, they will eat themselves to death. If your turtles are growing way too fast, an explation of what exactly this means would be helpful, it's usually a sign of over-feeding. Check out the stickies in this topic and change your feeding schedule/amount accordingly.

Euh. I know the what it feels like to want to feed turtles all the time, because they are so cool to watch! But over feeding is bad for their health and causes pyramiding and nasty crap like that.
So, I keep a calendar above the tank and pencil in what I've fed them (y'know, like, pellets everyother day, lotta greens and stuff, the occasional grape). It helps me to say NO! when they beg... although I still worry a lot.
Try looking for info around here about nutrition and health concerns, it helps me a lot.
