I want to get a 40 gallon turtle or long tank, whichever would be better, but all I see for long and turtle tanks are 20 gallons. Do they sell them larger and where can I find them?

If you mean by turtle tanks those that have the hole in the side for the filter, they are not recommended. Go for a regular all glass aquarium. The turtle tanks don't allow for much depth of water and as I'm sure you've read on here, RES love to swim
