Hello I am the Slider Slave,
I am putting together a 300 gallon tank for 3 RES, the tank will be 2/3 water and 1/3 land. I am using 3/4 plywood for the land base and I would like to cover the plywood with astro turf. I think I will staple it down so I don't expose the girls to any adhesives, my question is are there any issues using astro turf? My second question is do you this there would be any issues using a laquer sealer on the plywood before covering with the turf?
I am looking forward to your response.

I think people normally uses reptile carpeting or shelf liner. Astro turf might not be suited for use in a pet's habitat. As for laquer, I'm not sure. There are a lot of opinions on what is and isn't safe, but I would suggest this as your starting point: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=29724

Unless you use galvanized staples, they will rust.
