FX5 Questions

I am going to be getting an FX5 more than likely sometime after the first of the year. I have a few questions. I have looked at VepiaCrays thread.
On the FX5 can you use carbon and purigen in it? If I recall correcting the filter media thread said carbon OR purigen. If I wanted to use both and can't put both in the FX5 what would I do?
How much biomedia do you need for an FX5?
How hard is this sucker to set up? I not real mechanically inclined and my DH is even less.

Yes you can use Purigen and carbon. Make sure you pick up a few media bags too. Get as much bio filter your filter can take... this should be plenty:

Do glass rings work as well or better than ceramic? I've seen a lot of "talk" about ceramic but nothing on glass. Are they the same?

The confusion is probably my fault, I interchange the terms. They are technically different, but perform the same and are priced the same.

Thanks for the clarification. I have seen you post about ceramic, but I've seen others also. I am trying to make sure I do what is right/best when I set this monster up, but obviously I know very little about it all.

The link that Steve posted in this thread to the cheap media on ebay is good stuff to get for the FX5
