Shelter for the night

Once, somebody has asked me how many things my turtles have as belongings?
One part of possessions is their night box. Cannot say you "just do it like I did it" but both turtles sleep here last 5 and 9 months all nights without any problems with health. I`d like to show how it works at my home - nothing more. Right or wrong - but what is truth? All things we know are wrong often.
So, you can see how many fabrics for every day exchange. Every night here is fresh fabrics. And turtles never leaves here if they are awake. This place is strongly for turtle`s dreaming. In reality it looks in this way.

And the box was placed near from battery because of a very cold nights all last months.

Оne night when I did not turn on a heater and so, both turtles had problems with their eyes in the morning.

It is not perfect, but if the temperature in the box is above 72F (22C) It should be okay. Do you not have a water heater in the tank?

Looks good. I'm currently using a plastic bin and place it in the closet when it's time. Considering the mess they can create, I use some newspaper for them.

1) A water heater in the tank is not like tube but a undergravel cabel at the bottom. http://www.redearslider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=33602 Last months they begin to beg to to get out them from the tank before they going to sleep. Exactly like both beg for food. After supper they like to go to sleep all night. 2) Newspapers are not suitable because they paint containing heavy metals.
