I´m getting a new tank within the next month or so, and been looking at the above filters.
Gonna be running a 70-90 gallon tank
The 404 is half the price off the FX5, and the only diffrence i can see between the 2 filters is the "smart pump technolgy" and the bigger tank rating on on the FX5.
Is it woth getting the FX5 with my tank size, taking into account the big diffrence in the price aswell?

I have a 404 with my 125gal and had absolutely no problems with it for the first 1.5yrs. Recently I've had minor issues, but all I have to do is top up the water in the canister occasionally. It keeps the water very clean! I have no experience with the fx5.

The FX5s are just overkill, and depending on how big your turtles are, if you put an FX5 in a 70 gallon tank, it might just blow them away! I have a very long tank for my turtles (six feet long to be exact), so I got two FX5s, and they really do a good job, but because it is so long I needed the extra power, which in your case I don't think you do. You could also go with the RENA XP3, or 4. :D

The Rena cannister filters are called Filstar and they have 4 models, XP1 through XP4. They're less expensive than the Fluvals here in the US, and seem to work well for everybody.

I'd say go with an XP4. It's performance is somewhere between the 404 and FX5. The FX5 is an awsome filter, everything is extra large and heavy duty. It may be too large for a 75 gallon though.........

i like how this turned from 404's to FX 5's, to xP3's and 4's! LOL... im gonna say roll with the Rena Filstar (only because i own one)..but if you cant get them where you live, other members here can help you with other filters for sure!..good luck!
