I can't either. Tilly at least has some sense of decency and pulls it in when I've caught him fanning. :lol:

How long does he stay that way? I'm wondering if it's not more difficult to retract it if he's out of the water and that's why he's keeping it out like that (or he thinks he's being filmed for a porn movie).

i asked my girlfriend about this. (shes the one who took the pics)

she said he doesnt let it hang out for very long. the first time she was taking pics, he didnt retract it until she put him back into the water. the second time, he left it out for a little while, then retracted it while still out of water.

Males have longer thicker tails than females. Males also have longer claws on the front feet. These characteristics won't be noticable until your turtle is at least four inches long.
