With that bulb, I would try to situtate it between 7 - 9 inches from the turtle's basking spot.

i think reptiglo 5.0 should be 12" away or it will ruin their eyes

If it was a reptisun 5.0, I would agree with more than 12" but tidaboy9 said it's a repti-glo 5.0, which is weaker than a reptisun. Since the repti-glo has a maximum range of 12" according to the manufacturer, I would want it a little closer than that.

If the light is too close, you'll notice swelling around your turtle's eyes. I've been using a repti-glo 5.0 at 8" and have had no issues whatsoever.

Thx!!!! So by telling from my picture is my UVB lamp is close enoff to the dock?

tidaboy just measure the distance from the dock to the light

i had a set up similar to your as well....

before:

Make sure your temp is set right at 90-92
the UVB is bet 12-7inches away from r turtle
water temp- yeah we have the same heater. my water is always at 80 ? at the heater is preset for 78? okay?

Shiner - 4mo went fishing the last life bait lives in the tank
Goldie - 3mo gold ish
