Hi! I'm new and just wanted to post a couple of pics of Brewtus. The 75-gallon tank is almost done and will post more later :)

Beautiful turt! Can't wait to see pics of the whole tank.

How old/big is she?

Oh, and welcome :-)

Hi and welcome. Nice pictures.

Just because I'm curious, how old is your turtle and what is the shell size? Your Brewtus seems to be a girl from those pictures :)

That definitely looks like a female RES from the pictures.

I thought it might be a she (maybe I'll change the spelling to Brewtis...more feminine LOL). I got her when her shell was about the size of a silver dollar in December of 2005. She's now huge with about a 7" long/5" across shell. I know the 75 gallon won't last forever, but it's all I can afford right now. She has definitely been a money-muncher!

I have a Fluval 404 filter which seems to do a good job, two plexiglass ramps/docks with traction that I got from Drs. Foster and Smith (love 'em) and both UVA and UVB bulbs. The tank seems a bit empty, but easy to clean. I have about 30 smooth rocks on the bottom that are 1 1/2-2" in diameter. She also has some floating plastic plants to hang on.

As for sending the whole photo album...I have no idea how I did it. I never used Photobucket before LOL

Brewtis thanks your for all your compliments and warm welcome!

That's an awful lot of growth in one year...

She is pretty but it looks like there is some shell deformity around the edges. Has she ever been examined by a vet? Her shell looks as though she has been deprived of UV. You mentioned both UVB and UVA bulbs- are these separate bulbs?

I agree with Marisa, that's a lot of growth, but I guess stranger things have happened.
