We have a 3 1/2 year old RES named Tortelina who has grown so big that she is moving in to a gigantic tank tomorrow. She is looking forward to some deep diving.

Does anyone know what the best cannister filter would be for a 75 gallon tank?

You could get a xp3 or a xp4. They are both really great filters.

Welcome to the forum. :D I second the XP3. How big has Tortelina grown (shell length without the curve)? Her name, for some reason, is making me hungry for some pasta. :D

We went out looking for a good pump and we got one that is supposedly as good as the xp3. It's a marineland canister filter and we are trying to set it up now. Right now we are in need of a sorceror's apprentice to carry water!
We have had a lot of snow here so far this winter!

Tortelina started out about as big as a half dollar and is now 8 inches long. She has grown 100 grams each 6 months for the last 1 1/2 years. She is now in her new tank, w/o the filter and is swimming like crazy. This tank takes up so much room we will have to move our dining room table if we want to have guests over!

I read that you need 3 times the gph for a filter as the tank size. Our tank has 60 gallons in it now and the filter can clean up to 300.

The filter we just got is a C360 canister filter. The tank is 2/3 full and the water level is below the diffuser (inflow tube) Does anyone know if we can extend it to reach the water?
