Hello everyone.

I have two turtles. Hanible is 8" long, and about 3 or 4 years old. My other turtle, Allawishis, is probably a year old and 2" long. I am happy to be here and talk to other turtle owners.

Isn't 8 inches a bit long for 3 or 4 years?

Yes, it's almost two inches in a year, which is kinda faster than average. But all turtles grow in different rates. And there are growth spurts so we can never be sure.

Thank you all.

Hanible is a boy. And yes he grew extremly fast. He out grew the 10 gallon tank we had him in at 1st and then quickly out grew the 20 gallon turtle tank. Now he is very happy in his 100 gallon tank.

Thanks again

Wow, lucky boy.. has his own 100 gallon tank :)

My turtles are just a bit over a year old.. they grew too fast for the first year.. and are now.. 3.5 and 4".. so if they grow at the rate they should, an inch a year, by the time they are your turtle's age .. they'll be 6.5-7" and 7-8" .. hey it happens.. :)

ACCKK.. seeing that all typed out just sort of freaked me out.. just hard to imagine they'll be that big that soon.. hahaha.

Well I thought Hanible was a boy, but after looking at some of the pictures and read other posts I am not sure now.

I would really appreciate the help. I posted some pictures in the Gallery but none of the claws or tail. The next chance he lets me hold him I will take a few pictures and put them on here. Thanks
