Welcome to the forum.

Actually your post yesterday went on, you just added it at the bottom of an older post instead of making a new one. Here it is if you can't find it:

I do not know what I am doing.....I posted a notice and it got swallowed and each time the notice goes in, this first sentence I put in shows up...how do I delete the "I hope this get son the discussion board?" That was DAYS ago. I am lame, I know.
The message I was leaving was my growing despair...I have two turtles living in inadequate spaces and I have no space or money to invest in 120 gal tanks....or filters...I have miscallculated what a growing RES would need. The boy turtle is in a 20 gal long with a whisper filter...he is basking on his dock and seems okay. She is in a 46 bowfront tank with a whisper filter and brick to bask on, because her weight sinks anything I buy for a dock...she cannot get all the way out and is cheerful, alert but a bit forlorn. I am running out of reasonable solutions in that they live in a 8X12 room with a teenager and we have no where to go with this. 120 gal tanks are $500 without a stand....I have a Magnum 350thatdoes not do the job, and is currently missing a part.
I do not know what to do but feel a deep anguish about bringing them here without a way to help them grow up adequately. I do feel a moral responsibility to them...I love them...are they okay apart and sort of "turtle deprivation tanks?" Oh, hell, I do not know.....I am grateful for this forum but I think I am the biggest loser......
I hope this lets me sign on to the discussion board....

dont feel that way. as long as you have your turt's best interests at heart, you can do no wrong. check out your local classifieds and see if anyone is selling tanks. besides that, you can get a rubbermaid container and use that as a temporary home. How big are they?

The two turtles are : female approx 8 inches, males approx 4 inches. Are these creatures social in their need for one another? I love these turtles! I do not however want to love them to death.

These are the turtles where the male was making life miserable for the female and you separated them? They will survive without each other (they get together mainly to mate) and can do well by themselves (although the male may be wondering where is lady-love is).

If you must have a tank, check the classifieds. A few weeks back in the paper here someone was offering a 125-gallon tank for free. You never know what there is unless you look (and keep looking). Also consider those stock tanks like I mentioned before...

Yes, these are the fighting turtles. She seems okay without him, moving around a bit more and finally doing some eating. He is wired and is swimming a lot..I guess that makes sense. I never knew if reptiles had a sense of pack or community like mammals. I know he was very, very intent on her for weeks and she seemed not interested then the biting broke out.
How large are these stock tanks? Like circumference, etc for fitting into a small bedroom. What filter should I consider? Is my Magnum 350 going to be able to do this? And I guess this tank would simply be for her, and then he could graduate back into her 46 gal tank.
Also...how to you think I could rig a ramp for her? She sinks the floating one I have, and it is the largest size.
Thanks.....

The stock tanks can be 50, 100 gallons and up. Do you have any farm supply stores near you. Tractor Supply Company has stores in quite a few states, I don't know if yours is one of them, you'd have to check. I have one stock tank in the living room, don't know how much space you have in your bedroom.

For the ramp, look at ideas in the Photo Gallery. Some people have made basking areas with pvc pipe that they (and their turtles) seem to like.

You're Magnum 350 will probably not be sufficient for say, a 100-gallon tank.
