Hi All!

Annie here :) I'm a Stay-at-Home-Mom to 3 very active kiddos (age 5-1/2, almost 4 and 2-1/2), a workaholic hubby and 2 RES (age 1 year?) named Max and Ruby.

We've had Max & Ruby for roughly 3 weeks now. We absolutely adore them!

Looking forward to getting to know y'all and your "little ones"

Hi and Welcome. They are adorable, I love when they stack up like that. :)

I can tell that you have young kids by the names of your turtles.. :D You say that they are a year old but you've only had them 3 months? Just curious how that happened.. :)

btw, I have the same turtle dock and love it .. :)

Welcome to the forum. :)

From the picture it looks like there is small gravel in the tank (the colorful stones at the bottom?). Any gravel smaller than the turtles head should be removed immediately. Turtles will try to eat anything smaller than their head and if the stones do not pass they will become impacted and require surgery.

cam722: we got them 3 weeks ago from my cousin who "rescued" them from his friend who wasn't able to care from them. he has 2 snapping turtles at his house so he asked us if we wanted to take them. Max & Ruby were an unexpected addition to our household but their very loved... :) i'm learning as much as i can now on how to care for them since we inherited everything from the previous owner. (my cousin told me that the turtles were a year old... is there a way to find out for sure by looking at them? --- going to go resarch! :) )

sonyj: ooh! good to know... i actually was looking into getting those bigger smoother rocks for the botom of the tank as i've read that it's better and safer for them - less risk of injury.

sooooo much to learn from y'all! :)

thanks for the welcomes, again!
