If you decide to go, let us know how it goes. Maybe we will want to advise people against the other one?

Welcome. :) As for the hissing, it's can be made when a turtle feels threatened, or when the head is pulled into the shell quickly. In the latter case, air is being forced from the lungs to make room for the head. (Does he make the sound when he hides in his shell?)

Yes she does. Mostly when you pick her up. the head is going in and the mouth is WIDE open. Looks like she is ready to take a bit out of us. We got her a new tank. It is 120 reptile tank. IT is 5 feet long. sits on the cedar chest for now till I get a custom stand. Going to be doing the transfer today.

Had another question. When she is on the ground and you lightly pet her shell. She will like spaz forward or back ward like you tickled her. Is that what is happening.

Pics please when the new set-up is finished. :) Not sure about the spazing...My RES does something similar, sometimes, and to me, it seems as if he wants to rub his scutes as they get closer to get ready to being shed.

A big thank you to all of you. I have been trying to take a picture of my turt's new home.

the camera will turn on but it wont take a pic.

the tank is 5 feet long and 22 in deep. She has not moved anything other then the bridge that we have in there. She moved it so she can use it to get up on her basking dock. She is not soo panicky anymore either. she is soo calm. She will bask and not move a muscle for hours. We sneek by so she will not jump into the water. She would never get out of the water longer then it too to take a poop. She will just glide from one end to the other. we have not increased her her food. just pellets and lettuce. she is not even begging like she was before. the plant and rocks are in the same place as where we put them. The TMNTs are in her tank adn she has not tossed those around either. (we got them from the turtle store. they are solid plastic)

You might was to start increasing the variety of veggies that you offer. You don't have to offer more in amount, but the soon the better on variety. Turts tend to get set in their ways and the longer you wait the harder it may be to get your turt to eat different veggies.
