Hello, my friend found a few red-eared sliders at his restaurant, mixed in with the crawfish that were brought in to be cooked and served. Can you believe it??? So I got this adorable creature out of the deal....
I named him Asa, just because I like the name. He's about 2 inches long and seems to be healthy and adjusting well. Eats every chance he gets and 'follows' my finger through the tank as a sort of curious game. I will probably have lots of questions but just wanted to say hello initially. Glad to find this forum!

Hi everyone! Thank you for the warm welcome! Yes, I think he's very special already (I've had him for 2 weeks now), and I'm so happy he was noticed by the kitchen staff. He's already basking, eating well, and even nibbles a dried cranberry if he gets bored. Yesterday he took off and hid behind my stove... for 4 hours.... *sigh* Totally worth it to watch him though! He looks like a little alien dinosaur!
