Hi! I joined at the end of July, but I have yet to say hello. I have three RES babies. They are all fiesty and adorable with very different personalities. Spike is very inquisitive and gregarious; he is always the first to greet me at the side of the tank. Sparky is extremely quick and a bit skitty, but he is also the smallest of the three. Sleepy is the biggest and the most laid back. All three eat veggies, cuttlebone, and pellets very well, and they all love turtle treat (brine shrimp) which I dust with calcium and feed them once a week. I have pics from when I first got them about a month ago, and from now. They have grown so much! Doubled in size I think. The pics are the best I could manage, I think they're a little camera shy. I recently purchased an intermediary tank for them, a 75 gallon which they will be moving into this week. I don't know if I have boys or girls so I get to wait until they have grown a bit more to determine if I'll be making a 400 gallon indoor pond, or 3 120 gallon tanks. I really hope they don't fight, but I will be prepared if I have 3 males for war to break out.

They are all cute babies! Lose the blue gravel though....As they get bigger they will try eating it and it can lead to impaction.

Thanks to this sight and all the great advice, I got rid of the blue gravel July 31st, the day after I joined. At the time it was bigger than their heads, but these are older pics of the babies. They have grown so much! I truly love Zeke, your turtle. He has such a sweet face. I have said it before, but I am so happy you saved him. I looked for turtles to rescue from owners near me, but I didn't find any, hence the cute babies. Thanks for the3 advice! Nicole

Thanks and you're welcome! I am hoping to be able to get some more turtles in the future...when my hubby and I have our own place and will look to rescue...there are several on a classified site right now in our area....wish we had the room...I'd take them all.....Rescuing Zeke has truly made me very happy and he has already enriched my life so much. I am glad that I was there and able to help him.
