hello to everyone, this is my first time here. i have a female RES who is two yrs old & just reached 5 inches. she lives indoors & is very friendly & spoiled. she often can be found climbing up her "Wallpaper" i have on the back & sides thinking the trees are real ha ha. the best basking area i ever found is a bridge, she basks on top during the day & dives off numerous times with a big gin, she reminds me of a child enjoying a good swim :) at night she sleeps under it or behind her small fake tree stumps. she also pushes them & her fake plants around. i love watching her play but my favorite time is when she sits in my hand & gently wraps her front foot around my finger , so sweet such a love bug. i hope tofind out more about everyone turts & look foward to exchangingstories :)Dawn

does my turtle need a nesting area even if theres no male around? shes 2 yrs old at what age do they start to lay eggs? shes in a 20 gallon extra long tank for now.

Yes, female turtles will lay eggs even without a male around. Do a search on nest areas or nesting etc and there should be lots of posts come up to help you.
